The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) (Arabic ???? ?????? ???????), is a medical center in Amman, Jordan. It treats both adult and pediatric patients. KHCC treats over 3500 new cancer patients every year from Jordan and the region.
The King Hussein Cancer Foundation- Governing Body (The Foundation) is an independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit institution founded in 2001 by Royal Decree to combat cancer in Jordan and the Middle East region.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees composed of volunteers chaired by HRH Princess Ghida Talal.
The Foundation is the legal umbrella organization responsible for:
1) The King Hussein Cancer Foundation- Fundraising, Advocacy and Development (KHCF). KHCF is the largest community-based organization in Jordan dedicated to combating cancer. KHCF's work focuses on fundraising and development, global advocacy, public awareness on early detection and prevention, cancer coverage and patient support. KHCF is led by its Director General Nisreen Qatamish.
2) The King Hussein Cancer Center- Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research (KHCC). KHCC is the leading cancer center in the Middle East region providing adult and pediatric patients with state of the art comprehensive cancer care for all types of cancer. It is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as a disease specific cancer center, making it the first and only center in the developing world to earn such a distinction. KHCC is led by Dr. Asem Mansour- CEO/Director General.
The King Hussein Cancer Center- Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research (KHCC)
Bearing the name of his Majesty the Late King Hussein of Jordan, The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) was established in 2001 to provide the most advanced cancer care to every Jordanian and every Arab.
Following 17 remarkable years, KHCC shines as the only stand-alone, comprehensive, internationally accredited cancer center in the Middle East. Treating approximately 7,000 new cancer cases each year, KHCC has become a lifeline for thousands of cancer patients seeking cancer-care from across the Kingdom and the region.
The Center provides services on a total area of 108,700 square meters, includes 352 beds, 13 operating rooms, 36 intensive care units, and receives 7,000 new cases per year. The number of entries is 14,000 per year, outpatient visits are 250,000 annually, 300 bone marrow transplants per year with success rates comparable to those achieved globally.
Since its inception until June 2017, The King Hussein Cancer Center (KHCC) offered its comprehensive cancer care treatment to 52,557 cancer patients from Jordan and the Arab world.The King Hussein Cancer Center consists of 3 buildings, 2 new buildings of them were inaugurated in September 2017 including an inpatient tower and outpatients building that doubled the capacity of the center and provide improved, integrated space for patient care, research and education.
These new technologically cutting-edge facilities enable the center to be the main medical hub in the Middle East for comprehensive cancer treatment and care.
The 13-floor Inpatient Tower has:
o 179 additional patient beds (single occupancy rooms). o An expanded Diagnostic Imaging and Radiotherapy Unit. o An expanded Bone Marrow Transplantation Unit. o Adult and Pediatric Specialty ICUs. o Floors specifically dedicated to pediatric patient wards. o Floors specifically dedicated to adult patient wards.
The 10-floor Outpatient Building has:
o The first public cord bank in Jordan. o The Khalid Shoman Educational Center and Auditorium. This comprehensive educational center includes a skills lab, seminar rooms, a physician's library and a social interactive lounge. o Dedicated spaces for women and children, including a Women's Health Center and an extensive pediatric section to cope with the rising number of pediatric cancer cases. o A cutting- edge Cell Therapy and Applied Genomics Department, including state-of-the-art stem cell labs to raise the research capacity of the Center.

The expanded services of our Radiation Oncology Department include six linear accelerators fitted with X-ray Tracking Systems that offer the highest precision in targeting solid tumors by delivering real-time images of the tumor and the patient's organs.
Advanced Diagnostic Technology
Our new Diagnostic Imaging rooms are now equipped with the ambient experience, a technology deliberately designed to create a positive environment for patients during imaging. This audiovisual technology creates a comforting setting for patients, especially children during their MRI and CT Scan imaging.
Cell Therapy and Applied Genomics Lab
Our state of-the-art Cell Therapy and Applied Genomics (CTAG) lab is home to the first and only public umbilical cord stem cell bank in Jordan, which will provide life-saving stem cells for patients suffering from leukemia and other blood diseases.

1) Joint Commission International (JCI( Disease-specific Accreditation KHCC received its accreditation from JCI, as a disease-specific cancer center, making KHCC the only cancer center outside the United States to be awarded the Joint Commission International Clinical Care Program Certificate (CCPC) for its Oncology Program.
2) College of American Pathologists (CAP) Accreditation The KHCC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine earned international accreditation from the College of American Pathologists (CAP). This accreditation recognizes the exceptional high quality of KHCC's pathology and laboratory services. The honor bestowed upon the Center makes KHCC the first in Jordan and only the fifth in the Arab World to achieve such accreditation and confirms that KHCC laboratories meet and exceed regulatory requirements, yielding the highest accuracy of laboratory results.
3) American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Accreditation KHCC's Training Center was accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). This accreditation is a testament to KHCC's exceptionally high training standards, which are geared towards providing nurses with comprehensive educational courses to develop their skills in order to better serve their patients.
The Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation Program
With KHCC's new buildings' inauguration, the annual capacity of The Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplantation reached to 300 transplants every year. Since the establishment of the program, more than 700 transplants have been performed. It is one of the largest and most successful programs in the Middle East, achieving cure rates comparable with international standards. It oversees both matched allogeneic and autologous transplants. The KHCC BMT program performs transplants utilizing cord blood, making it the only program in Jordan and the second in the region to offer such a highly specialized procedure.
